Two vintage card decks with Sea Shells with cel-u-tone finish. Congress 606 Playing Cards made by The U.S. Playing Card Co. of Cincinnati, USA. Each deck has its 48 cards, in the original sliding case. The pink deck is edged with gold. The blue deck is edged in silver. The cards have been lightly used. I do not see any bends, tears or marks. The covering sleeve has the typical copy of the cards back on top and felt on the bottom embossed in gold lettering "Pinochle". The interior box is marked "Made in USA", and it contains 2 divider boxes to keep the decks separate. The gold foil on underside has a slight tear, see photo. The cards are in very good clean, used vintage condition.
The company was founded in 1867 as Russell, Morgan & Co., a printing company. They produced and distributed many brands of playing cards. They began printing playing cards, with the "Congress No. 606" in 1881. The playing card business was successful enough that it was spun off as a separate business in 1894, as The United States Playing Card Company.
