The Shadow of a Crime & The Deemster by Hall Caine, Published by P.F. Collier and Son 1910. The title page says Hall Caine's best books in three volumes. This is volume one. Hardback with no dust jacket uniformly bound in brown cloth with yellow and black decoration on front boards and spines. Book is in acceptable condition with some wear to the cover boards, no tears, scribbles, highlighting, or underlining, there is an original owner sticker on inside cover binding is tight. The cover and pages show slight indication of moisture exposure. Hall Caine was a bestselling English novelist of the late Victorian/early Edwardian period but is virtually unknown today. He is best known for his melodramatic historical novels and novels set on the Isle of Man.
