A fabulous 4 volume antique set "The Elements of Mechanical Engineering" published by The Colliery Engineer Co., prepared for students of the international correspondence school, Scranton, Pa., in 1897. This set is a First Edition, stated on the title page of each volume. All 4 volumes have identical covers of brown cloth covered boards with brown leather at corners and spine, gold embossed lettering on the spines. The covers are faded and show wear to edges and corners. All volumes are nicely bound with marbleized inside boards and endpapers, the end pages have a basic red design (see pictures for condition detail). All volumes are heavily illustrated.
