The Hucksters by Frederic Wakeman and Published by Haddon Craftsmen Scranton PA, 1946. 1st Edition, 307 pages.
An interesting hand finished hardcover with gold edging, I think the outer cover had a custom finish as it doesn't show a title, perhaps it was done as a gift. The interior pages are unbroken, I don't believe the book has been read, slight wear to the edges and corners see photos.
The Hucksters was made into a movie in 1947 by MGM starring Clark Gable and debuting Deborah Kerr. The Hucksters spent a year in the top stratum of the bestseller list aided perhaps by themes that were raunchy, controversial and racy for that time.
The basis story is of a World War II veteran who wants to return to advertising on his own terms, but finds it difficult to be successful and maintain his integrity. Book falls into the category of "a good read" with strong retro interest from the movie, and from the insights into the shifting morals of the post war period.
