Beautiful Victorian T & V French Limoges creamer produced for Hurd and Mellen - see backstamps.
In the Hartford City records Moses Mellen is listed as a purveyor of crockery, china, and ranges stoves at Hurd Mellen & Hewes of 255 Main Street, Hartford CT during 1890 and 1891; this was obviously a high class establishment, ordering fine china direct from the makers in the Limoges region of France.
Nice little early Limoges fine china item, with beautiful floral decoration, and a clear provenience provided by the detailed backstamps. Creamer measures tall, and is in good estate order with no damage, but some wear commensurate with age and use to the gilding.
