Really beautiful European antique porcelain tray, with floral hand transfer decorated table, and elegant metal frame with twisted hand wrought handles and ball feet. The tray measures 12" diameter (14" to the outer edges of the handles), and is in beautiful condition for the age, with no chips, cracks or other damage - the slightly dark patches are shadow from the chandelier.
The transfer decoration is under the glaze, it is very detailed and in lovely colors, it has no wear and is still bright and clear. There are no cracks or major scratches on the porcelain. The maker's mark on the back of the piece indicates that it was made in Germany by Max Dannhorn whose company was in operation in Germany from the late 1800's up to 1921. The trays marketed under the Dannhorn label were generally produced for him by Villeroy & Boch, which accounts for their outstanding quality, they also produced similar trays under their own label.
Highly functional as well as beautiful, use for display (it would be lovely for a collection of perfume bottles) as a server, or as a wonderful centerpiece for a dinning table or buffet.
