Miniature Antique Porcelain Portrait Child's Cup, Ring O Roses!

For the collector of antique children's items, miniature porcelain or portrait pieces, a really charming antique German miniature cup.

The cup is made of white embossed porcelain with soft hand applied over shading, the front transfer cameo depicts a little girl and boy holding hands as they play Ring O Roses, to one side is a basket of flowers. The cup is diminutive at a shade over 2 1/2" tall by 3 1/2" wide across the top (including the scalloped decorative handle).

This lovely piece would originally have been a pampered child's first cup, it is marked to the base with Germany and 18 and dates to around the late 1800's. The condition is very good with no chips, repairs or restorations, expected slight deterioration of the transfers, quite remarkable for a child's utility item of this age.
