This stunning Theodor Fahrner ring is an example of his Art Deco style produced in the 1920s and 1930s into WWII. Fahrner began work in Germany in 1855, creating jewelry of Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style. The designs were later inspired by the major European Art movement or Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Art Moderne.
The ring is large, rare and beautiful, featuring four superb round cut blue topaz gemstones, that darken in some lights ~ sparkling and wonderful. The square domed setting has an easily recognisable Fahrner design in sterling silver and tiny marcasite stones using the finest corded wires called the millegriff technique. The effect is delicate and stunning at once ~ just wonderful.

Dimensions are : the gem-stones are each 5 millimetres across; the ring face is 5/8 inch wide ; it stands approx 1/4 inch from the hand. Weight is 7.3 grams. Size is US 6.5 and easily re-sized. The stones show a little wear under a loupe, but are still bright and the setting is excellent with very gentle wear. The band is squared, which is I think original. The hallmarks are FAHRNER, 925 in a cartouche ; TF (linked & circled)~ the mark TF in a circle was used from 1901.

This is a exceptional and very collectible Theodor Fahrner Art Deco ring showing his elegant craftsmanship - reminiscent of the 18th century. Theodor Fahrner designs are very sought after by collectors.
