A very elegant pair of French earrings dating to circa 1900. Beautifully crafted in 18k gold in a fine design with a natural creamy pearl to the center and smaller one dropped by a fine gold chain. They are beautifully made with a lovely profile and with fluted detail to the setting of the large pearl.
Hallmarks: Solid 18k. The earrings are hallmarked with a double struck French Tete d'Aigle, the mark for jewellery in 18 karat gold and there is a makers mark. There is also a 750 mark and I assume this to be an import mark for United kingdom. The centre latching wires operate perfectly and are very secure. These are in fine antique condition with an antique bloom to the gold and the pearls just beautiful.
The earrings are of an average size and suitable for a small to medium ear.
Dimensions are : 1 1/8 inches from the ear to the bottom of the drop ; the pearls are 4 mm and 2 mm or 3mm ; the chain drop is 1/2 inch between the pearls ; weight is 1.4 grams.
These are superb 'boucles d'oreilles Anciennes ~ so very chic !
