Superb late Victorian citrine gold earrings, these are classically elegant and circa 1890. Two pale briolette cut citrine droplets are accented by a small garnet stone above. They are set in gold with original gold wires. The gold is unmarked as per many pieces of this era, but tests to 9 carat gold.
The briolette drop earrings are in very fine condition, with each citrine drop perfectly cut for gleaming effect. There is no damage to be seen. The garnets are both in fine condition, there is a slight distortion to one of the tiny collet settings surrounding one garnet. This is not seen unless one uses a loupe, but is noted for accuracy.
Dimensions the earrings are 1 1/4 inches from the ear x 3/8 inch across the lower drop ; the citrine drop is 5/8 x 3/8 inch ; weight is 2.8 grams.
Beautiful antique earrings ready to be worn and enjoyed for many years to come.
