This is a very fine antique French sterling silver ornate bracelet, with a repousse ball charm or 'breloque'. It dates from the late 19th century. The links are handmade, ornately woven silver and finely embossed to the edges ~ just wonderful workmanship ! The bracelet fastens with a large secure bolt ring.
Fully hallmarked to both the chain and 'breloque' with French hallmarks of the boars head or tete de sanglier which is the French standard mark of the Paris Assay Office, indicating a fineness of 800 or higher on small articles. This mark was in use from 1838. The condition is wonderful with antique patina commensurate with age.
Dimensions are : the bracelet measures 7 1/8 inches long ; the width is just over 1/2 inch; the ball charm is 5/8 inch across; weight 26 grams.
