This rare and stunning Modernist sterling silver ring and earrings set was designed by Marianne Berg for Uni David-Andersen, Norway for the innovative Space Silver Series of 1966. A finely crafted huge ring and earrings have a textural graceful wave design across the domed face of each piece. The silver wave is set against a black textured background ~ Berg’s design epitomizes the new direction of Norwegian jewelry at the time, where the silver itself becomes the integral element in the design. Marianne Berg joined the workshop of the famous old firm David-Andersen under the leadership of Andersen's grand-daughter Uni Andersen. She worked there during the 1960s when Uni and her team of woman designers were pushing boundaries with their technical innovations and original designs.
Hallmarked UNI D-A INV. M.B 925S. Condition is very fine with the silver of the three piece having deep even patina. The ring has a wide open band and the earrings have secure clips.
Dimensions are : the face of both the ring and the earrings is 1 inch across; ring size is US 6.5 and is adjustable; weight is 14.0 grams. The earrings weigh 21.5 grams together. They are complete with the original box marked David-Andersen.
