This is a fabulous early 1900s dress, probably from the 1912-1919 era. It is made of silk Georgette and net in a cream color, and is richly embroidered with a geometric satin stitch pattern. The net overskirt has floral metallic thread designs and is accented at the waist with a large satin bow. There are several issues to note: Holes have developed in areas of the silk skirt and upper sleeves, either from age or stress of being worn. I feel that the dress is too fragile for actual wear and should be considered as a display piece for an antique clothing collection. It looks beautiful on a mannequin or hung on a padded hanger.
