Gorgeous early sterling silver Mexican necklace with faceted amethyst glass stones.

Wonderful intricate design on this piece, on not only the sterling settings, but the chain. The thirteen, pear shaped, open backed, purple stones could definitely pass as genuine Amethyst, but I believe they are faceted glass. The sparkling stones contrast beautifully with the aged silver patina.

Including the dangling drops, the necklace width is 1 1/4". Each faux amethyst stone is 13mm x 8.5m (widest pt). The necklace is short in length, measuring only 14 1/8" long. I had a piece of old Mexican sterling chain, that I decided to add as an extension, making the necklace 17" long. If you don't need the extension, it would be simple to remove (or I could do it for you). Weight is 35 grams.

Great vintage condition. Marked "Sterling Mexico 925 RMM". I haven't researched the makers initials, but I'm guessing by the style, very aged patina, and shorter length, that this piece dates to the 1930's.
