This elegant and dainty antique Victorian fiery opal ring is surrounded by six old cut, sparkling diamonds. The 5mm x 4mm, prong set, oval opal demonstrates colors of blue, green, and hot pink-orange. The claw set diamonds measure about 1.5mm each. The ring is a size 5 1/2, and weighs 2 grams.
As far as condition, with close inspection, under magnification, I found a concave area on the underside edge of the stone. This could possibly just be the way the stone was when they set it, or, an old smooth chip(?). The stone feels quite secure in the setting, and this flaw does not seem to have affected the integrity of the stone. And, it is on the underside, so not seen. The last photo shows this flaw. Otherwise, the ring is in very nice antique condition.
The ring is marked 14K, and with a makers mark of a circle with a line.
