MARITA BLACK VELVET & HOT PINK 'RUMBA' DRESS by Anthony Muto. The black velvet of this dress feels like and has the hang of silk velvet and the hot pink satin ruffle has the look of silk. However, there is no fabric label. Ruffle can be worn atop shoulder or off-shoulder for drama. Waist could easily be brought in to the perfect fit.
The dress is satin lined with stays to give the mid section integrity. Dress hangs 47" from top of shoulder to hem bottom. Approximate measurements: Bust 35"-36" - Waist 28"-30" - Skirt Length 28" - 2-yard sweep at bottom.
A Little Background: At the age of twelve, Muto began training with his grandfather. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, then went on to work two years in fashion in Europe. Muto formed his own label in 1971, Marita by Anthony Muto. "I'm interested in making clothes that look like `this season' but don't go out of style next season. I wasn't raised in the throw-away tradition; I think things should last." Anthony Muto, 1978
