BUBBLEGUM PINK PEPLUM LILLI ANN SUIT - Made of the finest pure wool fabric utilizing a Peplum (short overskirt) in its design for that instant feminine hourglass figure. Suit is fully lined and exquisitely made with no detail missed. The Peplum was popular in the late 1930s early 1940s but the label dates the suit at 1980. This suit is immaculate as does not appear to have been worn. Shoulder Pads are not exaggerated. Skirt has inset elastic for a perfect waist fit and kick pleat Although unmarked, I would estimate this Suit at a Size 8. . Measurements: Bust 34" - Waist 25"/26" - Hips 34"
Adolph Schuman began his apparel company in 1934 with two used sewing machines and two employees in the Chinatown district of San Francisco. He named his company "Lilli Ann" after his wife Lillian. Schuman always identified with the City of San Francisco and its politics. After WWII he would put his California suit company on the map with increased advertising in "Vogue Magazine" along with some innovative political movements.
