Stunning two tone 18K gold and Diamond Band Ring by American designer Carl Blackburn. This beauty consists of an 8 mm wide open work yellow gold band with each fluted outer edge having a hand millgraine white gold diamond border on the top surface. The open work gold body consists of scroll work linking and surrounding a total of 9 princess cut diamonds ranging from 1.8 mm to 2.2 mm; the outer rim/border of each side of the ring has 8 brilliant cut diamonds from 1.4 mm to 2 mm in size, with 60 total 1mm brilliant cut diamonds spaced in between, for a solid diamond white gold border. Total carat weight is approximately .90 carats-diamonds are white and very clean; ring is size 7 1/4, but unlike most eternity bands, this one has a solid area 9mm long that can be used for resizing the ring if needed. Interior contains the 18K stamp, as well as a simple CB, as well as Blackburn's intertwined CB stamp. Weight is 4.4 grams.
Carl Blackburn is a southern California jewelry designer who did most of this work in the 1980's and 1990's-and was well known for his high quality, detailed work, often compared n style to Italian master Buccellati. This is a retired piece; and according to various written articles, as of around 2005, the Beverly K luxury jewelry line now has enveloped the Carl Blackburn brand. In any case, this is a beautiful diamond band that would make a perfect anniversary or wedding band, or a stunning right hand ring. These hand crafted pieces originally retailed for $3000.00 to $4500.00 and higher.
