The original item from Poppy's Vintage Clothing is now SOLD.
From the Art Deco era, the late 1920s here’s an elegant metallic gold lamé dress with a rose pattern woven into the lame. It is comprised of two pieces - the under panel has a simple pink silk slip with the attached bottom border in the matching lame. The over piece or tunic is gathered at the back around the hip line and has four separate flowing panels at the side and back. It also has a weight at the back neckline area.
Please rely on the following measurements for sizing, keep in mind there are no openings, it simply slips over the head like a slip. So you need to be smaller than the measurements give to fit the dress. All measurements are in inches, if you need cm, please email me.
Overall Length of the Slip: 44 1/2
Overall length of the Over Dress: 55 at the back and 36 at the front
The condition is very good. The pink slip has what looks like lipstick marks at the top near the underarm area on both sides and also has a teensy split at the back at the top of the neckline area on the pink underslip. The pink silk may need to be replaced at some point. The metallic lamé at the top near the shoulder area has oxidized on both sides. It appears that under the left arm there was a rose pattern that has also oxidized. There is also some oxidization on the border panel as well in certain areas.
A beautiful example of a 1920s flapper dress from an amazing era in fashion!
