The original item from Marzilli Vintage is now SOLD.
Crisp 1960's vintage Marimekko printed cotton shift dress with a joyful pink and green version of Annika Rimala's "Tarha" (garden) pattern. This is a wonderful pattern in a pretty and feminine color-way, the boldly drawn clusters of graceful curves and volutes in vivid rose pink accompanied by rhythmic clusters of grass-green dots scattered throughout a carnation pink ground. The easy-to-wear shift style features a collarless silhouette with raglan sleeves and silver-tone front button closures, and the dress has a 1960's "Marimekko Suomi-Finland" label and a "Design Research Cambridge, New York, San Francisco" label that dates it to the early- to mid-1960's. In excellent vintage condition, clean and ready to wear, there are "100% Cotton" and size "8" labels and the dress measures 35-inches long with an unexpanded 38 bust, 40 waist and 18-inch sleeve.
Annika Rimala, who was Marimekko's chief fashion designer from 1960 to 1982, designed the Tarha pattern in 1963.
