The original item from Wings Antiques is now SOLD.
This is an "Improved Maelzel" clockwork metronome made in the early 1900s by Theodore Presser in Pennsylvania at his first location on the corner of Chestnut Street and 18th Avenue in downtown Philadelphia.
It is in amazingly good condition for it's age with only minor wear and a couple of small scratches on its dark wood casing. Other than that it is a beautiful piece. It stands 9 1/4 inches tall and the sides are 4 1/2 inches wide at the base
The metronome winds, runs, and keeps time very well. The door hinges and latch are original and in fine working condition with no wobble or looseness to speak of. The bottom cover and the feet are original and, surprisingly, still there!
