The original item from SS Moore Antiques is now SOLD.
This is Allan Powell's hardcover book with 191 pages entitled Forgotten Heroes of the Maryland Frontier, published by the author via Gateway Press of Baltimore, MD as the 250th Anniversary Companion edition well in advance of the actual 250th Anniversary of the state of the French and Indian War. It is an oversized (8.75 by 11.25 inches) leather or leatherette covered book with embossed gold gilt lettering on the front and spine. It is in very good condition with clean, tight pages, and minor cover wear. The book is illustrated as well. The author does note that while "forgotten heroes" may be a stretch in some ways in referring to the three frontiersman that are featured in the book; Christopher Gist, Evan Shelby, Jr and Thomas Cresap, that he felt that "even with their undoubted flaws" their contributions as Marylanders to the outcome of the French and Indian War deserved more recognition.
