This set of six Pierrot postcards may be too shabby chic for some, but I couldn't pass up the suspenseful, nail-biting story:)
Before I get into the typed text, let me say that these cards do not have a bad odor. They are very yellowed. Please note that in the group photo of the cards taken under natural daylight, the card backgrounds look lighter and whiter. The direct scans of each trio more accurately capture the yellow-cream background. I'm almost tempted to think these cards were printed this shade because the rest of the colors -- the blue sky, the white moon, Pierrot's white outfit and golden balls are all rich colors and not tainted by what I perceive as excess yellow in the background. Or, perhaps a reaction with the chemicals in the paper of the postcard album they were stored in? You can see the album impressions and difference in coloring front and verso from the album corners. Nonetheless, to think these cards were put into a typewriter and tell the tale of transitioning from one century to the next ... ! No creases.
