A George VI, Stylish And Impressive, Silver And Crocodile Skin Mounted Hip Flask, 1938
A good quality English silver and crocodile covered hip flask. Although now approaching eighty years of age, this lovely hip flask has a very appealing finish. The crocodile skin top makes the flask easy to hold, allowing the silver sleeve/cup to be separated easily away from the glass container. The glass lip has no chips or damage, while the screw top opens and closes straightforwardly away from the cork liner.
The hip flask is hallmarked for Birmingham 1938 and was made by the silversmith Charles S Green. The flask measures 6" high and 3" wide, while the cup itself measures nearly 2 1/2" high, 3" wide and just over 2 1/2" across the mouth of the cup.
