Vintage Tom Clark Gnome (Retired) Freddy, the Freshwater Fisherman
This vintage Tom Clark Gnome, Freddy, the Freshwater Fisherman, is sitting on a log waiting to go fishing (he has a hole in his left hand for you to put a stick and string; the fishhook is there waiting for the pole and string), imagining catching the freshwater turtle.
There is fantastic detail on this figurine including the trade mark coin that is on all Tom Clark gnomes, 12 leaves, at least 30 acorns of all sizes, the log he is sitting on, the turtle, and Freddy himself with that expression fishermen get while enjoying all nature has to give.
Freddy has the following etched prominently on a leaf: Freddy (with a copyright mark) T. Clark with the number showing that this was the 28th resin cast Freddy gnome. The year he was made, 1983, is also marked under the leaf. This figure measures approximately 4"x3.5"x4" and is in very good condition. If you like gnomes or a Tom Clark collector this piece is for you.
On the bottom is an attached sheet of paper that states: FREDDY, Retired, (Virgo, 1983) This is Fred, Astairing at the turtle! He is a fresh water fisherman, imagining that he is fishing in Bhutan in the Himalayan mountains. He has a fish hook but no pole. He needs a little stick placed in his left hand by a collector.
