The original item from Charlotte's Antiques & Collectibles is now SOLD.
An antique French majolica plate featuring a herd of rabbits in a pastoral setting. Made in France by Hautin & Boulenger potters and patented Dec 4, 1900. The plate has a crisp mold with exceptional detail, painted in lovely pastel hues.
Measurement: 8-1/2 inches in diameter.
Condition: Very good used condition with typical age crazing for a piece over 100 years old. Has slight discoloration to its body from use, NO chips, cracks or flakes.
Marks: Stamped in black on back of plate Pat. Dec. 4, 1900, Made in France and other unidentifiable impressed marks. It should be noted here that where a black stamp reading Higgins & Seiter should be apparent, it appears someone removed those words. Looks as though glaze was sanded in this area.
