Both brooches are signed Alice Caviness. Gold tone metal with all prong set stones. A combination of sizes, shapes and colors. There are beautiful red navette shaped cabochons that turn purple when you turn them in the light. Both brooches have the "flawed" emerald imitation stones, one has a aventurine glass cabochon that has dog tooth prongs holding it in place. These were part of a line of jewelry that Alice Caviness did in the late 1960's. Beautiful and so much impact when worn together.
The large of the two is almost heart shaped at 1.8" tall by 2.3" wide and weighs 17. 4 grams. The smaller is 1.5" tall by 2.2" wide and weighs 13.8 grams.
