This is the most unusual vintage quilt. It is from the Hollywood Glamour era of the 30s. It is made of pastel colored satin and is hand made. It is done in golden yellows, blues, peaches, and blush or rose pinks. The edges have a diamond shaped scallop. The pattern is in a square shape and each square has a hand stitched circle in the center. The borders of the squares are done in multi-colored gathered squares. The gathering of the squares gives them a puff look. The backing is done is long strips of golden satin fabric (one is quite a bit darker than the others). I have never seen anything like it!
The quilt measures 75 x 89 inches. It is in wonderful condition. There may be a few areas where the fabric has come un-tacked (as shown in 4th photo), but we have tried to fix every place we could see. There are a few tiny holes in one area on the back (as shown in last photo) and there are a few small stains on the back (as shown in second to last photo). These stains look like they may be rust, but I am not sure. We have not tried to clean the quilt, so it does have an old smell, but it isn't bad.
