An unusual and hard to find Teddy bear from the estate collection of Jerry Fisher, the beloved Reeves International executive who sold Steiff in the United States from the 1950s through the 1990s.
This is a mohair, fully jointed "Dolly" bear that measures 32 cm head to toe. His head is white and the rest of his body is PALE yellow. He wears a pink neck ruff made from yarn. He has peach felt paw pads and a brown hand embroidered nose, mouth, and claws. His eyes are black button style. His IDs are a brass button, a black and white ear tag (front has the Steiff logo and the numbers 0164/30 and the back has the words "Made in Germany Coll Ed 1987 Replica 1913) and an additional branded hangtag.
This pale yellow version was a production mistake, it was supposed to be a much brighter yellow. The pale yellow version was made in 1987 only and is extremely rare and desirable from the collector's perspective. The pale yellow version was replaced by a much brighter yellow version. This Circus Dolly Bear was also produced in yellow and violet from 1987-1989 overall.
This bear is in clean, excellent condition. He has no playwear at all to him and was only used for display.
