This clear, antique, paneled pressed glass butter dish has a scalloped edge, diamond squares and high dome. The pattern is known as 'fancy diamond', or 3 in 1; and it dates to 1902. Condition is excellent, there are several places where the glass was left when hot, strings like hot cheese when you pull out a piece of hot pizza, commonly seen in antique glass. They look like cracks but are not. The knob has tiny chips on the high points only seen under magnification. it is 6 1/2" high and 7 3/4" wide. There is a large star in the center of the bottom dish. It is faintly purple is some light. I'd like to thank the kind, gentleman from Iowa who helped me identify this beautiful piece.
