We have recently acquired a lovely collection of vintage scarves and are happy to be able to offer them to our Ruby Lane Members. This scarf, although, not a "designer" has a very cool look to it. It was originally purchased by the original owner on a trip to London in the 1970's. It bears the British Union Jack as its theme but, it is the hang tag that is of special interest. It was purchased in a shop on Carnaby Street, the famous location of many trendy shops of that time, which reads..."City of Westminister...Carnaby St. Borough of Chelsea...Kings Road" and in the center ...."I was Lord Kitcheners Valet". It measures 26" square, all rayon, with machine stitched edging. It has never been worn, but there one small area where the fabric is fraying out(very common with rayon), and there are a couple of areas where it has a few spots, more from age and storing than wear. Even if it was never worn it is a great piece of fashion history from the time. We have shown the scarves atop a Mannequin head to give everyone an idea of the dimensions...The scarf comes from a smoke free environment..
