A nice example of Lakota Mens moccasins with lovely early bead colors. Featuring buffalo track center design with scared pool, tipi and arrow motifs. Minor bead loss as shown but a very beautiful and intact set for display. Leather is still supple and parfleche soles are in good condition. Length is 11".

An early reservation example, these moccasins represent the stylistic traditions of the Indian Wars period. Although this example dates from the early reservation period In the 1890’s to the turn of the century. Still present in this example are the early post- Civil War bead colors featuring chalk white, red center rose and other early diagnostic period colors. Attached to the deer hide uppers with deer or elk sinew the soles are fashioned from thick elk par fleche hide. The design patterns harken to the prevalent styles of the 1870’s and are created with an incredible sense of color balance, design and harmonious details.
