This superb vintage book from 1927 is titled " Famous Sporting Prints II- The Grand National". The publisher is 'The Studio Limited" in London. It contains 8 magnificent Prints of the horse race Steeplechase using a technique called "Blackmore Tintex Printing"— a "new method unique in the history of colour printing". This method was an early form of offset lithography which produced a good quality print similar in effect to a regular hand-colored stone lithograph. The prints are reproduction of famous original aquatint, each is described in the book The book is in very good vintage condition. Minor foxing, no foxing on the prints, all are present, not enough room to show all the prints.
The book measures 12.5" by 9.5", no pages missing, one page is torn ( about one inch) , it does not have a print on it. The prints are approx. 9" by 5.5". There is also the original blue flyer with the description of each nook available from the series from this editor. It will make a superb addition to a collection.
