This soup plate is part of the large 'London Views' series produced by Enoch Wood. It bears both the printed mark and the impressed, WOOD. It is a view of The Holme, Regents Park based on prints drawn by Thomas H. Shepard which appeared in 1827. Perhaps the most intriguing part of it is its border, which takes up most of the plate with its scallop shells, acanthus scrolls, vine leaves and clusters of grapes.
Diameter: 10 3/8 inches
Condition: There is very slight wear to the face. The back could stand a cleaning. No chips, cracks, or restoration.
