Vintage, Steiff Riding Bear, Very Good Condition

There are a lot of fun rides still available on this fine Steiff Ride On Bear. He even has a tiny growl left but mostly not. The string pulls out a bit and you can hear an errrr. He has his Steiff button in the ear and most of his mohair fur. It's not quite as fluffy as it used to be but the only fur I see missing is along the back seam and the seam could use a reinforcement few stitches. He was missing one eye. Funny story, I ordered a few eyes and didn't get the size I wanted. I checked all the craft stores and they were out of eyes. One day my new pup was rattling something around his mouth, I asked him to trade for a treat and he dropped it, a little scratched, and I said "Wow, that looks like the right replacement eye" and so it was. I found his toy that he ripped it out of and it was indeed, near perfect. It has a couple of scratches but is very close and even has the screw part. So, I think you can easily find a perfect one but in the meantime. the dog-supplied one works fine. I would include both eyes. Other than that, he rolls just fine and is sturdy, a tribute to how well this were made.

He or she measures 27" x 19 x 10 which includes the handle. He weighs about 12 lbs so check on shipping before you buy him. I did a quick check and between California and Wisconsin it would be about $100 USPS. Other services might be more reasonable. I haven't checked. I have seen these offered from $300 to $1500 so I really don't know how to price it considering the shipping. I am going to offer a lower price, will do layaway and might consider a decent offer after a bit. I'm not in any hurry to rehome him but have to at some point.
