This is a marvelous old Murano glass horse. Horses similar to it are shown in a 1933 catalog for VA Barovier, but were also made after that time. The horse is made of clear glass with bubbles streaked with blue. The mane and tail are lattimo. The tail originally looked like it was chipped off, but close inspection shows it was snipped, then the glass was smoothed over the top. I looked at horses made during the 1930-40s and saw that a blunt tail was very common. The horse has no damage. The mane and feet are smooth and round. It is a marvelous old horse.
