What a fascinating handcrafted Old Pawn Native American ring. The .900 coin silver setting on the back is an American silver quarter with the Eagle with outstretched wings and the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” . This coin was minted between 1932-1964.
My educated guess from the look, the patina and handcrafted quality of this ring is that it was made in the late 1940s or 1950s, but just my educated guess. The previous owner identified it as Old Pawn Navajo.
The focus of this ring is its quite large bezel set operculum (cat’s eye) shell that is dark green in color with some rust hues along the outer rim.
Condition: Very Good vintage condition with a deep silver patina. I have not attempted to shine the silver as it is up to its next owner whether they like and value the patina look of vintage silver. Some fine hairline cracks that I could only see under magnification. It looks like the shank may have been enlarged in the past. The light dots or streaks are merely reflection from the lights.
Ring Size: 11 ¾; Size of Operculum Shell: 7/8” long by 11/16” wide
