Very lovely antique Victorian cut steel twisted bead tassel earrings with a beautiful gold fill Victorian top piece and ear wire section.

Antique Cut steel jewelry is very collectible . Most was made in England and France.

The process of hand-crafting and stringing these faceted micro beads was extremely laborious and time-consuming. The cut steel jewelry process dates back to at least to the sixteenth century and became the height of fashion in the eighteenth century (Georgian) and nineteenth century (Victorian).

Care should be taken to keep them dry, as cut steel jewelry is susceptible to rust., which is why the jewelry is more difficult to find today.

Each earring has 7 tassels, and the beads still glisten in candlelight as when they were created and in modern lights too. The tassels gently sway with delicate movement when worn. The Victorian top ear pieces are particularly striking and lend a sophisticated finish to these earrings.
