Offered for you is a 1932 minimalist very modern German Art Deco Machine Age necklace by Jakob Bengel of Idar-Oberstein. Unmarked, but with the unmistakable hallmarks of Bengel jewelry as pictured in “Art Deco Jewelry - Jakob Bengel” by Christianne Weber and “Bengel Art Deco Jewellery” by W. Lindemann.

The 8 bright red ovals are galalith, (a plastic used in Germany and France in the 30s and 40s)the striated chrome pieces are chrome as are the galalith bead end caps. The barrel clasp was often used in Bengel jewelry.
These machine age pieces are so easy to wear. They are light but very sturdy with a sleek moderne look.
Condition: Very Good, almost looks new., and Just think, it was created in 1932 based on the Christianne Weber book.
