Adore these delicate Edwardian filigree pieces, c. 1915-1925 This piece has an oval faceted prong set purple glass stone with a raised dainty blue and green enamel design at the top and the bottom. An engraved bail and paper chain with a spring ring clasp completes the necklace. Unmarked.
When worn, it will instantly be recognized as a vintage/antique piece of jewelry and sure to evoke admiring comments. The filigree work is intricate and gorgeous.
These pieces were either rhodium plated or chromium plated. I am not sure which this is, but the use of either plating metal ensured a no tarnish jewelry piece that stayed bright through the decades. This style of jewelry can be seen on p. 144 of “Warman’s Jewelry, Identification and Price Guide by Christie Romero, 3rd edition.
Size: 1 7/8 inch long by 7/8 inch wide. Please note the measurements to accurately envision the pendant’s actual size.
Condition: Very Good vintage condition. Original bale and chain. Chain is 18 1/2 inches long. A Few slight abrasions on the edge of one of the purple stone’s facets that can only be seen under the magnification of a loupe, not with the naked eye, but I still want to include everything in the description. there is also a small spot of discoloration or green enamel loss as you look at the top of the pendant.still the overall look of this pendant is one of beauty and delicate intricate workmanship.
