18K YG 16mm Mabe Pearl & Diamonds Clip Earrings 16.6 Grams

Classic South Sea Mabe pearl clip earrings of 18k gold with a round domed pearl surrounded by a halo of 23 prong-set white diamonds. The high quality Made pearls are perfectly round and matched; They are creamy white with a thick nacre which displays the lustrous gray and pink tones. The gallery is open with a layer of yellow gold topped by a layer of white gold which seats the diamonds and gives them the backdrop to emphasize their sparkle. The back side is a work of art, a cut-out flower design of thick gold; the hinged clip back strikes with a nice snap on a raised and incised round of gold. The substantial clips are quite mechanically sound. There are no marks but the earrings have been tested to be 18k gold.

The pearls are 16mm diameter. The 46 diamonds are 1.5mm and have a total weight of 1/2 carat. They are I color and SI1 clarity. Overall diameter of the earrings is 13/16" (21mm) and they are 10mm high off the ear. Weight is 16.6 grams. I thought they were perfect but close examination with a loupe shows one pearl has a 5mm curving superficial crack/line in the outer layer going up from the base. It does not affect the integrity of the pearl. This imperfection is reflected in the price.
