This serving spoon or tablespoon was made by the Southern silversmith Henry Hudson of Louisville, Kentucky, who worked circa 1841-1855. It is monogrammed PP in script on the front of the handle and H. Hudson Louisville on the back of the handle. Typical of that time, it is not marked for silver content; it is 900 or coin silver. It measures 8 3/4" long and weighs 51.6 grams. There are three small dents in the bowl.
