A heavy bronze-patinated gray metal bank done as a detailed bust of Abraham Lincoln and created as an advertising piece for The Lincoln National Life Insurance Co., probably a giveaway to customers opening an account. It has a steel bottom and the original key. The slot for coins is in the bottom so the piece can pass as a paperweight , bookend, or piece of sculpture. Unlike most of these style banks, this bust does not have Lincoln's signature at the front bottom. The back is stamped THE LINCOLN NATIONAL LIFE INSURANCE CO. It stands 5 3/4" tall and the base is 3" x 3 7/8". It weighs a hefty 2 lb 2 oz. There is wear/loss of the bronze plating on the top of the bank.
