Superbly detailed Art Nouveau open salt cellar by Gorham. Sitting on three shell and hoof feet, the body has three different floral scenes wrought in hand chases repousse detail: a rose, a poppy, and a daisy. The lip comprises alternating shells and scrolling foliage.
The smooth bottom has three hallmarks: Sterling, 2150, and the Gorham lion passant, anchor , and G hallmark. The bottom of one hoof has the date code mark for 1893.
The large salt dish (probably a master salt) stands 1 1/2" high and measures 2 1/2" across the mouth. Weight is 55.15 grams. There is no monogram. I just now see a small dent on the bottom, easily accessed and pushed out.
