A gorgeous 1930s Art Deco cocktail ring in 14k white gold embellished with yellow and rose gold elements. The bezel set central stone is a round faceted cornflower blue synthetic sapphire. The fancy white gold filigree /cut work setting has an overlaid yellow gold border around the stone and an enamel (red and green) inset decorative element at the top and bottom. The shoulders have an overlaid rose gold flower with scrolling foliage trailing along the fretwork setting and down the shank of the ring where it meets hand chased designs. The inside is stamped 14K and a W inside a V shape (maker's mark).

The big lab created sapphire (new technology in the 30s and still expensive to produce) is a light to medium cornflower blue- an enthralling color that was hard to capture with the camera; it is lighter in color, more like aquamarine, than the photos show. The stone measures 14mm diameter x 7mm deep, or 3.8 carats. The round brilliant cut showcases its beauty. There are minor abrasions/wear to he top of the stone which are mostly only noticeable under magnification.

The top of the stone measures 13/16" (21mm) from knuckle to knuckle and rise 8mm above the finger. Weight is 6.7 grams. It is size 6 1/2 and can be re-sized by a jeweler.
