A nice desk statuary or paperweight, this small figural decorative piece from the mid 1900s features a mother and baby elephant wrought in sterling silver and mounted on a marbled gray and white rectangular onyx base. Both elephants have their trunks up, a symbol of energy, luck, prosperity and kindness. They are nicely modeled and really show the caring love between the two. They are not marked but have been tested to be sterling silver.
The elephants alone measure 2" x 1 1/2" x 3/4" . The onyx base measures 3" x 1 13/16" x 3/4". Weight is 274 grams., 9 3/4 ounces. Condition is excellent.
