This wonderful beaded bag looks and feels great inside and out. Popular in the 1910-20s, these swag or shaggy bags were often made in Czechoslovakia or Germany with Bohemian and Bavarian glass beads. The purse has a net body entirely covered with rows of caramel- color or dark amber glass beads. Over that are attached 17 lines of dangling loops or swags of beads giving the bag a lovely shaggy appearance.
The interior is gorgeous- celadon green hand stiched satin attached to the frame with crotcheted rosettes. The embossed frame and chain is gilded brass. The acorn clasp works well.
It measures 6 1/2" long by 4 1/2" across; 13" from the chain to the bottom of the bag. Condition is excellent except for some gold loss.
