Gorgeous long dangling earrings in India's Mughal Dynasty style. Heavy and set in rich 22k gold, three hexagonal sections are bezel set with clear round turquoise cabochons with an outer ring of cherry red enamel. At the bottom is suspended a heart shape outlined in round cells of emerald green enamel, which rival the gemstone, with a middle border of red enamel, and a central heart shape with an old single cut or table cut diamond. Each section is hinged so it articulates nicely. The top segment has a post for pierced ears and it is fitted with a big 10mm ear nut marked 14K. The back of the earring is flat and solid; even the diamond has a closed back. The earrings are not hallmarked but they have been tested to be 22K gold.
The diamonds are rough cut in the antique single cut style with a wide table. Each measures approximately 6mm x 4mm x 2mm, or 1/2 carat each. They are of H,I color and have inclusions; one has a small surface fissure. Any impurities add to the antique look of the jewelry. They have a combined weight of 13.8 grams. Each earring is 1 7/8" (47mm) long and 11/16" (18mm) at its widest. The enamel is in excellent condition.
