Presented for sale is a late 19th century Biscuit Porcelain Sculpture made by the firm of Samson & Cie in the Sevres style. The sculpture depicts a cherub sitting on a log next to a large flower basket laden with roses.
Samson produced sculptures from molds originally produced by the Sevres factory, often using the originals.
The molds were smaller renditions of larger sculptures depicting works from famous artists of the day originally produced on a larger scale in either bronze or marble.
The piece is in excellent condition with some possible minuscule chips to one or two flower petals. The figure is supported on an oval plinth.
Size: 14 ½" Height by 13" Length.
