Presented for sale is a neoclassical Wedgwood late 19th century vase in the shape of a Barber’s bottle with lid. The tri-colored jasperware is festooned with Bacchus heads and pale lavender jasperware medallions with Greek figures draped in garlands. The neck is enhanced with ram’s heads draped with floral garlands, the rim lined in leaves. The workmanship on 19th century pieces is very detailed and far superior to later examples.
The vase is in excellent condition and bolted to the socle base; a slight hairline is evident on the top. For the collector of fine British Wedgwood, this is an exemplary piece.
Size: 10 7/8” Height.
